Who we are
G2 Melody (Gospel Guardians Melody) is an a cappella gospel choir based in Buea, Cameroon. This policy covers the website www.g2melody.com and the G2 Melody phone app. Questions: write to g2melodycmr@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your account: name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you continue with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google.
- Your profile, if you add it: photo, phone number, city, a short bio, your voice part and mentoring details.
- Learning: the courses you join, lesson progress, quiz answers, badges, certificates and practice time; practice recordings you choose to make and share with a mentor. The microphone is used only while you record, after you allow it.
- Community: prayer requests, praise reports, song requests, answers, reactions, circles and mentoring messages you post.
- Choir members: membership status and rehearsal attendance recorded by the choir.
- Giving and purchases: the name, email, phone number and amount you enter when giving or buying.
- Messages you send us through the contact form, suggestions or the website assistant.
- The phone app: your phone’s model and system (to show your signed-in devices), a notification token if you allow notifications, and crash reports (technical error details, app version and system version) if the app closes unexpectedly. Downloads and your progress may be kept on your phone for offline use.
- Cookies: a sign-in cookie and your language and theme choices. We use no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics services.
How we use it
- To run your account, courses, certificates, the community and the choir’s member tools.
- To send the notifications and emails you ask for — you can switch each kind off in your settings.
- To answer your questions, keep the service safe (for example against abuse and repeated sign-in attempts) and fix problems.
We do not sell your information, and we do not show advertising.
Who we share it with
Only services that help us run G2 Melody, and only what they need: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Cloudinary (photos, audio and video), Google (sign-in with Google), Expo and Google Firebase (delivering phone notifications), our email provider (sending emails) and Groq (answering questions asked to the website assistant). What you post in the community is visible to the people it is meant for — everyone, or the choir only.
How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, learning records, posts, messages, notifications and sign-ins are deleted immediately. Records of gifts and purchases are kept for the choir’s accounts, no longer linked to your account. Copies in our backups disappear within 30 days.
Your choices and rights
- See and correct your information in Profile & Settings (website) or Edit profile (app).
- Switch notifications and emails off at any time.
- Delete your account yourself, in the app (Me → Edit profile → Delete my account) or on the website (Profile & Settings → Delete account). See www.g2melody.com/account/delete.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or for help, at g2melodycmr@gmail.com.
Security
Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords and app sign-in tokens are stored only as secure hashes, and on your phone the sign-in is kept in the system’s secure storage.
Children
Young singers are welcome. If you are under 13 (or the age of consent in your country), please use G2 Melody with the permission of a parent or guardian. A parent can ask us to delete a child’s account at g2melodycmr@gmail.com.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email.
